Football Recap: Mechanicsburg Extends Winning Streak to Five

Mechanicsburg and Hershey pushed the score to 42-21 the last time they played Hershey, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Wildcats' defense stepped up to hand the Trojans a 7-0 shutout. Those seven points were actually the fewest the Wildcats have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

The win (which was Mechanicsburg's fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-1. As for Hershey, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-3 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mechanicsburg will host Shippensburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hershey, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Waynesboro at 7:00 p.m. The Trojans will be up against the Indians' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
