Volleyball Recap: Douglass Takes a Loss

Douglass was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lyons Lions. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Lions when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the defeat, Douglass saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ava Ast had 12 digs and two aces.

Douglass now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Lyons, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-11.

Douglass didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Eureka on the 20th. As for Lyons, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Marion on the 20th.
