Basketball Game Preview: Springfield Spartans vs. McKinley Red Dragons

The Springfield Spartans will take on the McKinley Red Dragons in a tournament on Saturday. Springfield is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Last Monday, Springfield lost to Field on the road by a 56-41 margin. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 545th, while the Falcons are ranked 231st).

Meanwhile, McKinley suffered their biggest loss since February 24, 2024 on Monday. They took a blow against Lakeview, falling 67-34. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Red Dragons' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for McKinley, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-10.
