Basketball Recap: Pinecrest Academy Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Pinecrest Academy lost against The King's Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Paladins were outmatched by the Knights and fell 85-48. The Paladins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Pinecrest Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Michael Lynch dropped a double-double with 18 points and 18 boards. Those 18 rebounds set a new season-high mark for Lynch. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Keyman, who shot 45% from the field en route to 14 points and five steals.

Pinecrest Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for The King's Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Pinecrest Academy will challenge St. John Bosco Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pinecrest Academy's defense better be ready for this one: St. John Bosco Academy has averaged an impressive 63 points per game this season. As for The King's Academy, they will take on Cherokee Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 67 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
