Baseball Recap: Jones Comes Up Short

Jones was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 17-2 to the Victoria East Titans. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing 12-3 to the Titans when the teams met back in March of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jones saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Montoya, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Jones' defeat dropped their record down to 3-9-1. As for Victoria East, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jones will host Rockport-Fulton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Rockport-Fulton has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Victoria East, they will welcome Calhoun at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
