Baseball Recap: Friends Takes a Loss

Friends had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 1-8 to make it four. They lost 9-3 to the Key Obezags. The Quakers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Obezags from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Key, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-5. The result was nothing new for the Obezags, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

For Key's part, Sean Flynn was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The Obezags are 6-1 when Flynn posts two or more runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Wyatt Dowton also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Looking ahead, Friends will face off against St. Frances Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Key, they will challenge Pallotti at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Obezags' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
