Soccer Game Preview: Mount Tahoma vs. Gig Harbor

The Mount Tahoma T-Birds will head out to square off against the Gig Harbor Tides at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mount Tahoma's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for ten straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Mount Tahoma came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 4-1 to Bellarmine Prep. While losing is never fun, Mount Tahoma can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Bellarmine Prep are ranked 40th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Gig Harbor, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They put the hurt on Lincoln with a sharp 7-2 win on Tuesday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Gig Harbor considering their one-goal performance the matchup before.

Gig Harbor's victory bumped their record up to 6-3-2. As for Mount Tahoma, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9-1.

Mount Tahoma might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from Gig Harbor in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the T-Birds avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
