Mira Costa moved up to 81 from 116 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Bay. The Mustangs climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Newport Harbor 33-21.

Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, West beat North 35-6. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Warriors.

Palos Verdes Peninsula's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ian Escutia threw for 111 and 2 touchdowns and Jason Burr had 77 yards receiving. On the ground Rory Hubbard contributed 214 yards. Jeff Ickes helped Palos Verdes Peninsula's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 12 yards.

Hubbard provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Panthers bested South. Hubbard's favorite target this week was Burr, who caught 6 passes for 77 yards.

Hubbard was a force in the backfield as Palos Verdes Peninsula topped the Spartans.

Burr was the best wideout in the league this week as Michael Christensen's team defeated South. Ickes helped Palos Verdes Peninsula's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 12 yards.

The leading receiver in the league this season is Burr. The Palos Verdes Peninsula star has 21 catches for 317 yards.

Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when the Panthers' Burr goes up against Redondo Union's Salesi Fifita.

At the moment, the Sea Hawks are in second, while Palos Verdes Peninsula is in third.

The league will see a high scoring game when Redondo Union and the Panthers face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Matt Ballard's team comes in having scored 151 this season, while Palos Verdes Peninsula has scored 158.

Mira Costa made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 721 from 1,161. The improvement was the result of a 33-21 victory over the Sailors last week.
