Softball Recap: Amite County Comes Up Short

Monday just wasn't the day for Amite County's offense. They lost 18-0 to the Loyd Star Hornets on Monday. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Hornets recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Amite County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jon'Asia Ratliff, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one double. Ratliff has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Amite County's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Loyd Star, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.

Coming up, Amite County is taking a road trip to take on East Marion at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Loyd Star, they will challenge Florence at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Loyd Star's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Florence's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
