Softball Game Preview: Chester Volcanoes vs. Redding Christian Lions

The Chester Volcanoes will face off against the Redding Christian Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Chester and seven for Redding Christian.

Last Friday, Chester didn't have quite enough to beat Los Molinos and fell 10-9.

Hailey Delong was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Sarah Branch was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Redding Christian's offense. They lost 10-0 to Los Molinos on Monday.

Chester's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Redding Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10-1.

Everything went Chester's way against Redding Christian when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Chester made off with a 15-6 victory. Will the Volcanoes repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
