Baseball Recap: Faith Christian Gets the Win

Faith Christian proved they can win big last Friday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Kerr-Vance Academy Spartans, sneaking past 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Patriots have posted since April 23, 2024.

Tanner Trevathan was excellent, scoring a run while going 4-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Rine, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Trevathan wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Faith Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive contests.

Faith Christian's record is now 7-2. As for Kerr-Vance Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Coming up, Faith Christian will square off against Harrells Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Faith Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Harrells Christian Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Kerr-Vance Academy, they will take on Rocky Mount Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
