Baseball Recap: Seven Straight Road Wins for Leo

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, Leo was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 18-3 margin over the New Haven Bulldogs. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won six matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Landon Slattery looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alex Robison, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Luke MacDonald, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double.

Leo hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in six consecutive games.

Leo's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for New Haven, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7.

Looking ahead, Leo will head out to take on Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for New Haven, they will face off against Van Wert at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
