Basketball Recap: Unaka Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Katlyn Dugger and Kalli Shepard

Unaka lost against North Greene back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Unaka Rangers took a 42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Greene Huskies.

Unaka's loss came despite strong showings from Kalli Shepard and Katlyn Dugger. Shepard posted 18 points and five boards, while Dugger scored eight points and five rebounds. Those 18 points gave Shepard a new career-high.

Unaka's defeat dropped their record down to 18-8. As for North Greene, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 19 games, which provided a nice bump to their 25-3 record this season.

Unaka has already played their next matchup, a 63-57 win against Johnson County on the 15th. As for North Greene, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 52-36 victory against Sullivan East on the 18th.
