Basketball Game Preview: Lakeview Vikings vs. Pierce Bluejays

Lakeview hasn't had much luck against Pierce recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Lakeview Vikings will venture away from home to take on the Pierce Bluejays. Lakeview has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Friday, Lakeview came up short against Northwest and fell 67-57. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (55), Lakeview still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Pierce ended up a good deal behind Aquinas on Thursday and lost 49-31. The match marked the Bluejays' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Pierce and nudges their season record down to 3-7. As for Lakeview, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-5.

Lakeview didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Pierce in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 51-45 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lakeview since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
