Prescott skates past Mohave with ease

Recap: Prescott Badgers vs. Mohave Thunderbirds

The Prescott Badgers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 84-42 win over Mohave on the road. The win was familiar territory for Prescott who now have seven in a row.

Prescott was led to victory by Zane Gaul and Uriah Tenette. Gaul dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds, while Tenette scored 30 points along with eight steals and six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gaul has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Costa Contreras, who scored six points along with four steals.

Despite the loss, Mohave saw an underclassman step up: Devon Cook scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. Cook continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Pedro Marentes, who scored nine points.

Prescott has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Mohave, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.

Prescott will be playing in front of their home fans against Coconino at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Coconino will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 156th, while Prescott is ranked 32nd). As for Mohave, Mohave and Mingus will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Mingus is on a four-game streak of home losses, Mohave a ten-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
