Basketball Recap: Don Soffer Aventura's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

Don Soffer Aventura has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 56-45 to the Monsignor Pace Spartans on Tuesday. The Barracuda were not able to make up for their defeat to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Don Soffer Aventura's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dimitri Tatulishvili, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tom Sela, who posted ten points and five boards.

Easton Gelin went supernova for Monsignor Pace, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Gelin a new career-high in assists (six). Abraham Senat also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Don Soffer Aventura's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5. As for Monsignor Pace, they moved to 3-17 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Don Soffer Aventura will host Franklin Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Monsignor Pace, they will head out to square off against Immaculata-La Salle at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
