Softball Game Preview: Southeastern Panthers vs. Westfall Mustangs

Southeastern is 0-9 against Westfall since April of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Mustangs at 5:15 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Southeastern lost 9-1 to Unioto on Wednesday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Southeastern saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Brown, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Meanwhile, Westfall came up short against Chillicothe on Thursday, falling 9-2.

Kenzie Cook made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Southeastern's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Westfall, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Southeastern has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Westfall struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Southeastern might still be hurting after the 12-1 loss they got from Westfall in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
