Softball Game Preview: Morton/White Pass Timberwolves vs. White Swan Cougars

The Morton/White Pass Timberwolves will head out on the road to take on the White Swan Cougars at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Morton/White Pass has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Morton/White Pass is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Chief Leschi 25-14 on Thursday. The Timberwolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by eight runs or more this season.

Gracie Ford was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances. She also put up a home run, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Izzy Loucks, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, White Swan came up short against Granger on Saturday, falling 29-14. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The win made it two in a row for Morton/White Pass and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 23.0 runs over those games. As for White Swan, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Morton/White Pass took their win against White Swan in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 16-6 score. Will the Timberwolves repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
