Holly is a perfect 6-0 against Swartz Creek since May of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bronchos are taking a road trip to take on the Dragons at 4:00 p.m. Holly will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Holly not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 9, 2024 (when they won 14-3). They put the hurt on Flushing with a sharp 13-3 victory. The Bronchos haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Alyssa Bowman was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Bowman was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That RBI was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Molly Charboneau (SVSU) was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Elliot, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs.
Holly always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Swartz Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Linden, falling 14-2.
Abbie Schultz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.
Swartz Creek's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Holly, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-4.
Holly's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's game. The Bronchos have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Swartz Creek, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Holly continue to outrun the ball?
Holly came out on top in a nail-biter against Swartz Creek when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 7-5. Do the Bronchos have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Dragons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
