Softball Game Preview: Pittsburg Pirates vs. Antioch Panthers

For the second straight game, Pittsburg will face off against Antioch. The Pirates will challenge the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pittsburg has three straight victories, Antioch has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Pittsburg is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Antioch with a sharp 25-9 win on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Pirates with their most commanding win of the season.

Amilyah (Millie) Mouton 2027 made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Mouton 2027 was even better at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Pittsburg got a massive performance out of Trinity Mendoza 2026, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Jonalyn Kaapana 2027, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Antioch's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Pittsburg, their record is now 4-15.
