Softball Game Preview: Wayland-Cohocton Eagles vs. Pavilion Golden Gophers

The Wayland-Cohocton Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Pavilion Golden Gophers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Wayland-Cohocton is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

On Friday, Wayland-Cohocton was able to grind out a solid win over Geneseo, taking the game 7-2.

Meanwhile, Pavilion fell victim to Avon and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Braves, falling 9-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Golden Gophers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Wayland-Cohocton pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Pavilion, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
