Baseball Game Preview: Benicia Panthers vs. Campolindo Cougars

The Benicia Panthers will head out to square off against the Campolindo Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Benicia's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Campolindo's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Benicia's tournament run continued when they took on Junipero Serra on Thursday. The Panthers fell 9-4 to the Padres.

Nash Rubins and Peyton Rowles did some serious damage despite the final result: Rubins went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI, while Rowles went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Vacaville typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Campolindo proved too difficult a challenge. They had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 7-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Evan Kelly looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one hit in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Luke McLeod, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Miles Clayton also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Campolindo's record is now 10-6. As for Benicia, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.
