Softball Recap: Hutsonville/Palestine Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Hutsonville/Palestine's offense. They fell just short of the Effingham Hearts by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Tigers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Hutsonville/Palestine saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brynn Griffin, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Hutsonville/Palestine's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Effingham, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 17-6.

Coming up, Hutsonville/Palestine will take on Arcola in a tournament on Saturday. As for Effingham, they will be playing at home against Teutopolis at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
