Logan Cook made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Socastee is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-15 otherwise. Cook was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Cook wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jace Crowther, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Jimmy Cocca was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Waccamaw scored the most runs they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 21-15 to Bishop O'Connell. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Corrin Green and Christian Galasso did some serious damage despite the final result: Green went 4-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Galasso went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Green has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Evan Barnett, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Waccamaw's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Socastee, their win bumped their record up to 4-16.
