Baseball Recap: Grace Christian Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Keswick Christian, Grace Christian was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Oasis Christian Lions by a score of 8-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won three games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Bryce Purkey made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. Purkey was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

In other batting news, Braden Johns was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those runs were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Benjamin Fanelli, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4.

Grace Christian lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Grace Christian's record is now 3-1. As for Oasis Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Grace Christian has already played their next contest, a 7-2 win against Ruskin Christian on the 4th. As for Oasis Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-1 defeat against Canterbury on the 3rd.
