Recap: Carter Green Hornets vs. Gibbs Eagles

The Carter Green Hornets had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 50-46 win over Gibbs on Wednesday. This was payback for Carter, who suffered a 58-51 loss the last time these two teams met.

Carter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Marah Yeo led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ivey Jones, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Carter's victory bumped their record up to 6-22. As for Gibbs, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.

Carter and Powell will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Carter is coming into the matchup with seven straight wins on the road, meaning Powell will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for Gibbs, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South-Doyle at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Gibbs has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
