Basketball Recap: Box Elder Takes a Loss

Box Elder lost against Turner back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Box Elder Bears took a hard 72-53 fall against the Turner Tornadoes. The Bears' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Despite the loss, Box Elder saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Martay Stiffarm-Rosette posted 24 points. That was a full 45.3% of Box Elder's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kise Seaton, who had ten points.

Box Elder's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Turner, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.

Box Elder won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Chester-Joplin-Inverness at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Turner, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Fort Benton at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
