Volleyball Recap: Rock Point Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Rock Point faced off against Joseph City on Saturday. The Cougars fell 2-0 to the Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Pepper Pete paced Rock Point's offense, picking up four kills. Pete got some help from Aiyana Becenti and her six assists. Becenti was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Rock Point has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season. As for Joseph City, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 23-11.

Coincidentally, Rock Point and Joseph City will both be playing Lee Williams the next time they take the court. The Cougars will head out to face the Volunteers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Wildcats will play them later in the day, at 5:00 p.m.
