Eagle Mountain better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Benbrook really get things going. Benbrook put the hurt on Eastern Hills with a sharp 28-6 victory last Thursday. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 200th, while the Highlanders are ranked 897th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brady Gordon was his usual excellent self, rushing for 166 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 54 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Carlos Harris handled things on the ground, rushing for 122 yards and a rushing touchdown.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Benbrook's defense and their five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Jacob Carpenter and Christian Gleason, who racked up four sacks between them. Carpenter is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in the last five games he's played dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eagle Mountain). They were the clear victor by a 35-13 margin over Ferris on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

BRYCEN VINDIOLA looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 46 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 69 yards and a touchdown. TERRY STARKS was VINDIOLA's top target, rushing for 132 yards.

Eagle Mountain wouldn't let Ferris keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Eagle Mountain can thank Zachary Thomas and Jayden Hernandez for forcing both of them. Hernandez also set a new season high mark in total tackles with seven.
