Baseball Recap: Kane Victorious

Kane was not the first on the board on Thursday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against the Brockway Rovers by a score of 7-3. This was payback for the Wolves, who suffered a 5-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Phinn Chamberlain was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out 12 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off nine hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Preston Darr, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Eric Novosel was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Kane now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Brockway, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Kane will head out to challenge Smethport at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Brockway, they will be playing at home against Brookville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
