Basketball Game Preview: Corning Bobcats vs. Buffalo Island Central Mustangs

The Corning Bobcats will square off against the Buffalo Island Central Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Corning came up short against East Poinsett County on Wednesday, falling 68-42.

Meanwhile, Buffalo Island Central came up short against Riverside on Monday and fell 55-48. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Rebels: they've now lost five in a row.

Corning dropped their record down to 7-12 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Buffalo Island Central, their loss dropped their record down to 5-16.

Corning was able to grind out a solid win over Buffalo Island Central in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 67-60. The rematch might be a little tougher for Corning since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
