Baseball Recap: Brito Find Success

Brito hadn't done well against Miami Christian recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Brito walked away with a 5-2 victory over Miami Christian. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 8-0 win the Victors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Noah Nevarez looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Brito is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-6 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Raivon Pinder, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Samuel Castro was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

The victory made it two in a row for Brito and bumps their season record up to 7-8. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Miami Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Brito and Miami Christian will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time Brito sees the field they'll take on Sunset at 3:30 p.m. on April 2. As for Miami Christian, their break will end when they face ABF Academy at 3:30 p.m. on April 8.
