Suburban Christian - Gold recap October 29, 2013
IC Catholic Prep's Randy Leslie rumbled for the longest rushing play in Suburban Christian - Gold this season in his game against Chicago Christian last week. Leslie scampered for 91 yards on the play and finished with 204 on the day as his team beat the Knights.
Guerin College Preparatory made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,233 from 12,369. The improvement was the result of a 48-7 victory over the Gators last week.
IC Catholic Prep's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jack Copher threw for 76 and 1 touchdown and Rashaun Epting had 56 yards receiving. On the ground Leslie chipped in 204 yards. Sean Sutton helped IC Catholic Prep's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 20 yards.
Leslie provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Knights bested Chicago Christian.
Copher put up the best numbers in passing as IC Catholic Prep topped the Knights.
IC Catholic Prep's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Knights feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Copher has thrown for 1,319 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Clark Brinkman has 35 catches for 629 yards.
The Knights' Leslie needs only 79 yards against Aurora Christian next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 125 carries Leslie has put up 921 yards this year.
