Softball Recap: Foothill Takes a Loss

Foothill has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.92 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They came up short against the California Grizzlies, falling 10-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Falcons have suffered since May 2, 2024.

Kaycie Burdick was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Naima Braham also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Foothill's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4-1. As for California, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

Foothill will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Monte Vista at 4:00 p.m. on the 15th. As for California, they will be taking part in a tournament against Liberty at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday.
