Baseball Game Preview: Crismon Rattlers vs. Gunnison Cowboys

The Crismon Rattlers will be taking part in a tournament against the Gunnison Cowboys at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Crismon will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Gunnison's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Crismon hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. Crismon was the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over Dysart on Thursday. The Rattlers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

Kenny Wilsford made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-4. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game.

In other batting news, Aaden Lopez was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Crismon is undefeated when Lopez posts two or more runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Preston Hammond was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-2.

Crismon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Gunnison fell victim to Owyhee and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 14-0 to the Storm. The loss was the Cowboys' first of the season.

Crismon's record is now 6-2. As for Gunnison, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
