Basketball Game Preview: Crane Cranes vs. Denver City Mustangs

Crane hasn't had much luck against Denver City recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Crane Cranes will welcome the Denver City Mustangs at 7:30 p.m.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 79-49, which was the final score in Crane's tilt against Brownfield on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Cranes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1142nd, while the Cubs are ranked 247th).

Meanwhile, Denver City had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Bulldogs as they made off with a 46-26 win. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Denver City is also on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Crane, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.
