Baseball Game Preview: Putnam Kingsmen vs. Centennial Eagles

For the second straight game, Putnam will face off against Centennial. The Kingsmen will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Putnam made easy work of Centennial and carried off an 11-1 win.

Ben Boman spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 12 Ks. He has become a key player for Putnam: the team is undefeated when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 5-13 otherwise.

At the plate, Ian Pollard was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Putnam is 6-1 when Pollard posts two or more runs, but 3-12 otherwise. Grady Cram also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Putnam's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-13. As for Centennial, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-17.
