Basketball Game Preview: Toll Gate Titans vs. Pilgrim Patriots

Toll Gate hasn't had much luck against Pilgrim recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Toll Gate Titans will challenge the Pilgrim Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

On Friday, Toll Gate was able to grind out a solid win over Tiverton, taking the game 56-44.

Liam Leahy had a dynamite game for Toll Gate, going 6 for 12 on his way to 19 points along with five rebounds and five steals. That's the most points Leahy has posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, Pilgrim didn't have too much trouble with Woonsocket on Thursday as they won 55-41. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Rhode Island basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Villa Novans are ranked 48th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Toll Gate has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Pilgrim, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.

Toll Gate was taken down by Pilgrim 61-28 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Toll Gate was down 38-13.
