Baseball Game Preview: Center Roughriders vs. Huntington Red Devils

The Center Roughriders will venture away from home to square off against the Huntington Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Center's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Huntington's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Center's tournament run continued when they took on Liberty on Saturday. The Roughriders and the Panthers finished up their matchup with a 2-2 tie.

Meanwhile, Huntington didn't have quite enough to beat Kirbyville on Saturday and fell 4-3. The game marked the Red Devils' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Huntington saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex McGilvra, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Huntington's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. With that draw, Center's record moves to 5-2-1.

Center was able to grind out a solid win over Huntington in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, winning 3-0. Will the Roughriders repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
