Pinellas Park suffers third straight loss on the road

Recap: Pinellas Park Patriots vs. St. Petersburg Green Devils

The Pinellas Park Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of St. Petersburg by a score of 49-46. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pinellas Park in their matchups with St. Petersburg: they've now lost three in a row.

St. Petersburg got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nique Slone out in front who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Curro, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Pinellas Park bumped their record down to 3-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for St. Petersburg, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Pinellas Park won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Osceola at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Osceola is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for St. Petersburg, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hollins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
