Preview: Grulla Gators vs. La Joya Coyotes
Grulla has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the La Joya Coyotes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Friday, Grulla was beaten by Palmview 55-26. Grulla has struggled against Palmview recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, La Joya's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a serious blow against Stafford, falling 67-34. La Joya was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-16.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Leo Hinojosa, who scored 8 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leo Villarreal, who scored 4 points.
Their wins bumped Grulla to 3-2 and Palmview to 9-3.
