Basketball Recap: Coahulla Creek's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Coahulla Creek has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 64-60 heartbreaker at the hands of the Signal Mountain Eagles. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (59), the Colts still had to take the loss.

Defeat or not, Coahulla Creek got some senior leadership from Gage Voyles and Carter Quarles. Voyles went 7 of 14 en route to 19 points along with eight rebounds and five assists, while Quarles went 7 for 12 on his way to 19 points and five boards. Voyles' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Teagan Houser, who posted five points.

Coahulla Creek's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-6. As for Signal Mountain, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Coahulla Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 62-58 defeat against Sonoraville on the 18th. As for Signal Mountain, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 70-40 victory against South Pittsburg on the 17th.
