Preview: RHAM Raptors vs. Newington Nor'easters
RHAM is 0-3 against Newington since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The RHAM Raptors will head out on the road to square off against the Newington Nor'easters at 6:45 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
RHAM has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were dealt a 74-40 defeat at the hands of East Catholic on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points RHAM has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Newington pushed their score all the way to 66 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 67-66 to Torrington. That's two games in a row now that Newington has lost by exactly a single point.
RHAM's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Newington, they have fallen quite a ways from their 16-6 record last season and are now at 4-8.
RHAM came up short against Newington when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 64-57. Can RHAM avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
