Basketball Game Preview: American Heritage Academy vs. Wickenburg Christian Academy Lion

American Heritage Academy are taking a road trip to square off against the Wickenburg Christian Academy Lion at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Thursday, American Heritage Academy had to suffer through an 84-51 loss at the hands of Thunderbird Adventist Academy.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Wickenburg Christian Academy beat Our Lady of the Sun Academy 61-56 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lion.

Wickenburg Christian Academy's win came from a few key players American Heritage Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Justen Smith, who posted eight points and eight rebounds. What's more, he also racked up two steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Braden Dickinson was another key player, putting up ten points along with six boards and five assists.

Wickenburg Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Our Lady of the Sun Academy only pulled down eight offensive boards.

Wickenburg Christian Academy pushed their record up to 21-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.6 points over those games. As for American Heritage Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

American Heritage Academy was taken down by Wickenburg Christian Academy 81-31 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Wickenburg Christian Academy's Evan Gustin, who went 12 of 26 on his way to 31 points.
