Basketball Recap: Central Cabarrus Extends Winning Streak to Three

Central Cabarrus had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the West Rowan Falcons by a score of 76-65. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Vikings also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Central Cabarrus had a senior duo take command as Kevonta' Martin posted 27 points and Cayden Smith put up 23 points. Smith's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kameron Cook, who had six points.

West Rowan lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Evan Kennedy, who posted 16 points and seven assists. Those seven assists gave Kennedy a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brant Graham, who earned 15 points and five rebounds.

Central Cabarrus now has a winning record of 7-6. As for West Rowan, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.

Central Cabarrus wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 79-70 defeat against Robinson on the 9th. As for West Rowan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-45 win against East Rowan on the 8th.
