Basketball Recap: Hathaway Brown Comes Up Short

Hathaway Brown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the St. Joseph Academy Jaguars and fell 63-17. The contest marked the Blazers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Hathaway Brown lost, don't look at Emily Morgan. Despite the final result, she posted ten points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Joseph Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lizzie Gus, who went 5 for 6 en route to 10 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Melanie Alvarenga, who earned four points along with 11 boards, five assists, and five steals.

Hathaway Brown's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for St. Joseph Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Hathaway Brown has already played their next match, a 62-40 defeat against Chardon on the 17th. As for St. Joseph Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-45 win against Trinity on the 11th.
