Baseball Game Preview: East Liverpool Potters vs. East Palestine Bulldogs

The East Liverpool Potters will head out to square off against the East Palestine Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. East Liverpool has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 12th.

East Liverpool managed to slip by Oak Glen the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Potters came up short against the Golden Bears on Thursday, falling 13-6. On the bright side, the six- run performance marked the Potters' highest-scoring contest to date.

Elliot Fitch made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He also brought in two RBI, marking his first of the season. Kooper Ramsey was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

East Palestine couldn't beat Heartland Christian on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Bulldogs fell 11-7 to the Lions. Surprisingly, this marked the Bulldogs' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

East Liverpool's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for East Palestine, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season.

East Liverpool took their victory against East Palestine in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Potters since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
