Football Recap: East Lake Comes Up Short Despite Mia Higgins' Big Defensive Game

Despite a strong season so far, East Lake has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They fell 12-2 to the St. Petersburg Green Devils on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 14-8 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2021.

East Lake didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Mia Higgins.

East Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for St. Petersburg, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

As of now, neither East Lake nor the Green Devils have any future games scheduled.
