Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Comes Up Short on the Road Against Horizon Christian

Trinity Christian kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They had to suffer through a 75-26 loss at the hands of Horizon Christian. The Saints have struggled against Horizon Christian recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Horizon Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lawrence Long led the charge by putting up 20 points and six boards. Long's big performance that morning made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Alex Shepherd was another key player, scoring 14 points and three steals.

Horizon Christian's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Trinity Christian will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Legacy Christian at 7:00 p.m. on December 9. As for Horizon Christian, they will venture away from home to take on Crosspointe Christian Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
