Basketball Game Preview: Oldenburg Academy Twisters vs. Franklin County Wildcats

Oldenburg Academy is 2-7 against Franklin County since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Oldenburg Academy Twisters will head out on the road to square off against the Franklin County Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Oldenburg Academy will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Oldenburg Academy will head into Saturday's match hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 36) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Newport Central Catholic 42-40.

Meanwhile, Franklin County posted their closest win since December 12, 2023 on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against North Decatur, sneaking past 43-41.

Oldenburg Academy's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. As for Franklin County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season.

Oldenburg Academy came up short against Franklin County in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 37-32. Can Oldenburg Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
